At its meeting on 21 November 2022, Council approved a time limited development application for a change of use (conversion) of a single house and shed to a ‘Place of Public Worship’, for a period of four years from the date of approval, at Lot 3,155 Warrington Road, Byford subject to conditions.

At its meeting on 17 October 2022, Council refused the amendment to the existing approval for the ‘Transport Depot and Worksop’ at Lot 41, 17 Cardup Siding Road, Cardup.

Council adopted a table of short term actions recognised as initial options and opportunities for the West Mundijong Industrial Area at its meeting in March 2023.

Council made an official recommendation to the Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel (MODAP) to APPROVE the development application for 21 Showroom Tenancies and five Fast Food/Takeaway Tenancies at Lot 806 South Western Highway, Byford during its meeting on 20 March 2023 (subject to conditions).

At is March 2023 Ordinary Council Meeting, Council adopted Local Planning Policy 3.8 – Byford Town Centre Built Form Guidelines.

As part of the Shire's rating strategy, we reviewed properties which are currently classified as Unimproved Values (UV) to determine if they can be reclassified as Gross Rental Values (GRV) to ensure their classification best represents them.

At it’s February 2023 meeting, Council adopted Local Planning Policy 4.25 – Uniform Fencing.

The dog park at Lot 8053 Tourmaline Boulevard, Byford, was specified as an off-leash dog exercise area by Council at its meeting in November 2022.

Council resolved to make a submission to the Local Government Advisory Board to reduce the Shire's number of Councillors from nine (9) to six (6), evenly distributed across three (3) wards.
