Tonkin Highway Extension and Thomas Road Upgrade - Proposed Temporary Road Closure

We are inviting your feedback on the Shire's intention to temporarily close Orton Road between Bullock Drive and Timbrel Road (formerly Hopkinson Road).

These changes will take effect from early-May 2026 to late-July 2026 as part of the Tonkin Highway Extension and Thomas Road Upgrade (THETRU) Project and associated works.

Plans and documents setting out and explaining the scheme amendment have been deposited at the Shire’s administration building at 6 Paterson Street, Mundijong and is available for inspection during office hours between 8:30am to 5:00pm.

How to make a submission:

Submissions on the draft Public Notice – permanent closure of a portion of Orton Road may be lodged by one of the following ways:

• A written submission, submitted by mail or in person to 6 Paterson Street, Mundijong, quoting reference SJ954-58:
