The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is updating the Urban and Rural Forest Strategy, with a new set of practical actions to maintain and improve tree canopy and vegetation within the Shire’s communities now and into the future.
Trees provide a wide variety of important services, which are critical to the amenity and liveability of urban areas. The Shire is committed to protecting and enhancing tree canopy and vegetation coverage in its communities.
The community vision developed by the Shire highlights the importance of protecting the environment in the context of expected growth. A well-treed environment is central to the maintenance of community values, with local native trees and understorey of particular importance.
