Consultation has concluded and a decision has been made.

Development application for Child Minding Centre, Beenyup Road, Byford

Outcome 

At its August meeting, Council resolved following Responsible Authority Report Recommendation: 

1. That the Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel REFUSES the application for the Use Not Listed - Brewery and Restaurant as contained within attachment 1 for the following reasons: 

a. The Development due to size and scale is inconsistent with the objectives of the Rural zone under the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Town Planning Scheme No. 2;

b. The development, through the submission of the Nutrient Irrigation Management Plan, has not satisfactorily demonstrated that it can be undertaken without impacting the environment.

Background

The Shire has received a development application for a restaurant and brewery at Lot 201, 1248 Karnup Road, Serpentine, and we want to hear your feedback.

The Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel (MODAP) will replace the Shire Council as the decision maker on this application, however the Shire will provide a recommendation to the MODAP. The application includes the following works:

  • Restaurant building (700m2) with an outdoor terrace (400m2;)
  • A brewing facility building (1,400m2) with ancillary office space;
  • An outdoor playground;
  • A two-way crossover from Karnup Road with a 6m access driveway; and
  • 251 car parking bays.
