Background

On 7 July 2022 the Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel deferred an application for a Proposed Service Station, Rural Supplies Store and Veterinary Clinic at Lot 801 Thomas Road, Oakford.

The deferral was to allow the applicant to review their proposal in light of the road upgrades at the intersection of Thomas Road and Kargotich Road. The Shire has received amended plans and has received your feedback.

The Joint Development Assessment Panel will replace the Shire as the decision making authority, however the Shire will provide a recommendation to the panel.

The proposed development includes a 453m2 Service Station, a 1030m2 Veterinary Clinic and a 1030m2 Rural Supplies Store. The proposal includes 144 car parking bays including six trailer bays, five truck parking bays and caravan parking.

Access is proposed from Kargotich Road.
