Thank you to those who provided feedback on our Events, Arts and Culture survey.

At the June Council Meeting, Council endorsed the proposed 2021/22 Community Events and Activities Calendar. You can view the calendar under the “documents section” of this webpage.

With COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns continuing to arise, additional requirements are necessary to comply with COVID-19 pandemic event guidelines and the community’s confidence and willingness to attend large-scale events.

The proposed calendar includes reference to various community led events (e.g. SJ Food and Farm Fest and Log Chop) to demonstrate the level of activity occurring across the year. These events are indicative based on the activities of the last 12 months and are all subject to the capacity of the community groups to be able to deliver these events and the availability of funding to support the activities to continue, particularly given the increased COVID-19 pandemic event delivery requirements.

The Shire delivered events and activities planned for the year have been developed with the overarching theme of social inclusion and connection with community.

The calendar presents opportunities for the community to participate in a range of local experiences and the below outcomes can be expected:

• Increased connection with community

• Bringing people together

• Support of local businesses and development of the local economy

• Showcase of local talent and skills

• Activation of outdoor spaces
