Mundijong Tavern

The Shire has received a development application for the redevelopment of the Mundijong Tavern at Lot 50 (28) and Lot 200 (32) Paterson Street and Lot 7 Whitby Street, Mundijong.

The application seeks approval for the demolition of part of the existing ‘Tavern’ and the construction of an extension to the side (south) elevation. The expansion would include a sports bar and dining area as well as a beer garden to the rear.

The site is listed on the Local Heritage List and the Local Heritage Survey. The works propose to retain the original staircase, cornices, ceiling roses, wall vents and windows. The new works will also reinstate the fireplace in the main building and install a balcony as per its former appearance.

The subject lots will be amalgamated to the south to enable the construction of a new car park which will accommodate 19 bays. A new section of street parking is also proposed to the south along Whitby Street which will accommodate 10 new bays.

Please note that the submission period has now closed.
