We are inviting your feedback on a proposed amendment on Local Planning Policy 4.7 – Site Works. At its meeting on 17 November 2025, Council resolved to advertise the proposed amendments, in line with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.

The proposed amendments to the policy aim to:

  • Refine the policy scope to include all site works including excavation
  • Ensure terminology is consistent with the broader planning framework
  • Update the scope of the LPP to apply it to all lots that do not have an R-Code
  • Provide clarity around when site works are exempt from development approval
  • Include minor changes to the general provisions and development standards of the policy
  • Update the definitions.

Your feedback will help us finalise the amendments to the policy. A copy of the amended policy can be found on this webpage

How to make a submission:

Submissions on the Local Planning Policy Amendment may be lodged by one of the following ways:

  • Email your feedback to info@sjshire.wa.gov.au stating the following reference number: SJ4626
  • A written submission, submitted by mail or in person to 6 Paterson Street, Mundijong, including the reference number: SJ4626
