On 1 July, 2021, Serpentine Jarrahdale celebrated its 60th anniversary as a Shire.

First local government in WA to have a majority of women.
A little later a woman Shire President and Vice President but not when there was a majority of women!

Old Mill Managers House.
SJ Shire Council battled to save this house and have its importance recognised by the National Trust.

The story of Landcare SJ and it enormous benefits to the Shire.
Landcare has brought in millions of dollars in grants for council reserves and local residents which would not have been available to a local government. Hundreds of thousands of hours by Landcare staff and volunteers,have been spent working on Public Open space and road reserves.

Heritage Community Choir
Anzac Day; Hospital visits, Community events; Christmas Carols. Evergreen singers from all around Shire and some beyond. Singing is good for mental health and this choir is doing that in abundance over many years.

Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Tourism committee
Established and re established over about 40 years, accomplishing amazing results. Shire brochures distributed by hand over a large area of the state, tourist info bay, souvenir spoons, tea towels, key rings, calendars, etc. Best display at Perth Royal Show.
