Byford Skate Park - Stage 2: Progress Update

Pre-construction planning works for the Byford Skate Park – Stage 2 extension are continuing with the finalisation of clearing permits and preparation of a detailed Revegetation Management Plan currently in progress.

Required by the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) as part of the clearing permit application process, the Revegetation Management Plan will ensure the new skateable surface and surrounding upgrades to the park will be installed in a responsible manner, helping to off-set the loss of native trees as part of the necessary clearing works.

The Shire recognises the importance of these trees and understands the need to mitigate the environmental impact of their removal.

The Revegetation Management Plan is a key part of the Shire’s clearing permit application, which will be submitted to DWER in the coming weeks.

The Shire will then continue with the construction phase of the project following application approval by DWER.
