At its December Meeting, Council resolved a Responsible Authority Report recommendation to the the Metro Outer Joint Assessment Panel to approve the development application for the construction of a ‘Child Minding Centre’ at Lot 9074 Gordin Way, Byford subject to conditions.

Background

The Shire has received a development application for a Child-Minding Centre at Lot 9074 Gordin Way, (Granfell Way) Byford.

The development application seeks approval for the construction of a single storey skillion roof building to be used as a Child Minding Centre.

The proposal will provide early learning and care services for a maximum of 120 Children with up to 15 staff members. The centre will cater for the following age groups:

• 0-2 years :16 places

• 2-3 years: 30 places

• 3+ years: 60 Places

Specifically, the proposal comprises of the following:

• 15 full-time staff employed on-site at any one time with additional staff attending the site during off peak periods for the purpose of lunch cover administration and training purposes.

• Operations hours will be from 6:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday.

• The playscape will be framed with permeable garrison fencing of 1.8m height.

• The development proposes a total of 25 on site bays including one (1) disabled access bay, a shared space vehicle and 5 street parking bays.
