Contract signed for new Oakford volunteer fire station

The contract for a new state-of-the-art Oakford Volunteer Fire Station facility at Pony Place, Oakford, has been signed.

The Shire has awarded the contract to Cloudbreak WA, marking the beginning of an estimated 18-month design and construction program for the new Oakford Volunteer Bushfire Brigade Station.

The project has been made possible thanks to State Government funding of $2.26 million.

The new station will include:

  • Four multiple vehicle bays
  • Dedicated equipment storage
  • Training and meeting rooms
  • Upgraded amenities to support operations and volunteer wellbeing
  • Formal car parking
  • A designated training area

It will support more than 70 volunteer brigade members who collectively respond to about 150 callouts each fire season.

The Shire will maintain close collaboration with the Oakford Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade, ESB and project partners throughout construction to ensure the station meets operational needs and reflects the shared commitment to safety and resilience.

The Oakford Volunteer Bushfire Brigade station project has been supported by the State Government through the Department of Fire and Emergency Services. Completion of the new facility is anticipated by December 2026.
