FAQs
Why do the Shire's reservefs need new management plans?
The Shire has a number of individual management plans for natural area reserves, published on its website. Many of these management plans are more than ten years old, and the actions within the plans require updating. Over the last 10 years, the best practice style for a management plan has also changed.
Why is the Shire engaging on the project?
The draft Scarp and Plateau Woodland and Forest Management Plan contains information relevant to managing any area of scarp and plateau woodland and forest, plus Action Plans for the four Shire reserves which contain scarp and plateau woodland and forest.
Although scarp and plateau woodland and forest are protected by State clearing laws, many reserves include areas that are leased or licensed to local user groups. These groups play a role in how the reserves are managed. By hearing from both user groups and the wider community, the Shire can ensure everyone with an interest in these important natural areas is involved in their care and management.
How will my feedback be used?
All feedback will be collected and used to help shape the final version of the draft Scarp and Plateau Woodland and Forest Management Plan. This includes changes to the layout, content, and actions based on what matters most to the community.
All responses will be kept anonymous.
