We’re looking for community feedback on Draft Local Planning Policy 2.0 – Commercial signage within Shire road reserves.

At its meeting on 21 July 2025, Council endorsed the draft policy for public consultation.

This policy sets out how commercial signs can be used on road reserves across the Shire. It aims to:

  1. Keep road reserves safe by regulating where and how signage can be placed

  2. Limit signage clutter by focusing commercial signs in town centres, where they support local businesses

  3. Protect the rural and natural feel of our landscapes by avoiding signage in areas with high visual amenity

  4. Support housing opportunities and raise awareness about new major land estates

This is your chance to help shape how signs are managed across the Shire.

Consultation closes 5pm Friday 22 August 2025. You can provide feedback in one of the following ways:

  • Email your feedback to info@sjshire.wa.gov.au stating the following reference number: SJ4626
  • A written submission, submitted by mail or in person to 6 Paterson Street, Mundijong, including the reference number: SJ4626
  • Completing an online form below.
