Background
The Shire has received a development application for which comments are sought for proposed extension of Time and renewal of Licence for ‘Industry - Extractive’.
A development approval was granted on 24 December 2014 for an ‘Industry – Extractive’ at the subject site for a period of 10 years, expiring on 6 December 2024.
The subject application seeks to amend this approval by allowing extraction to occur for a further five years.
The application details that the excavation would be staged over a 15.2ha area with rehabilitation occurring at the end of each stage.

Excavation would commence on the eastern side of Lot 6 and move easterly towards Lot 300.
Hours of operation are proposed from 7:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Saturday.
Access to the site would be via an entrance located on Boomerang Road. Truck movements are estimated to be between two and four trucks per hour.
