Local cemetery

Outcome

At it's November meeting, Council endorsed the Jarrahdale and Serpentine Cemeteries Masterplan. The masterplan can be viewed under the "documents section" of this webpage.

Background

The Shire has two local cemeteries, in Serpentine and in Jarrahdale, in which space is limited and will soon be full.

In order to extend the life of the cemeteries, a Masterplan to integrate space management, civil works and beautification has been developed.

The proposed works included in the Masterplan involve:

  • Planting native flora at each cemetery site to upgrade beautification
  • The addition of toilet and gazebo facilities to the Jarrahdale Cemetery
  • The addition of new grave plots to each cemetery site
  • Upgrades to drainage

    Hi, thanks for your question.

No, the Shire will not be renewing any grave sites in the two cemeteries. It is a beautification and life extension project through new burial areas.

If you require any further information on this, please contact Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Landscape Architect Adrian Snary on 9526 1111.
